Bangkok

Well we arrived in Bangkok safe and sound. Both flights were fine and passed quickly enough, Andy doesn't remember either of them!!! We have spent 4 days here and tried to make the most of them. We have visited 4 temples, 2 palaces and a zoo. We have had 3 nights out in 3 different parts of bangkok, all of which resulted in us being very drunk! We've had a great time and the hotel is lovely. We'll be sorry to leave but are looking forward to getting out of the craziness of the city, where zebra crossings and traffic lights mean nothing!
Every road is like this and not just at rush hour. You basically have to step out in front of the traffic to make it stop in order to cross the road.

We tried to take the canal boat when we could!

The temples are amazing.

Some words of wisdom from the Lord Buddha

King of the castle!

A real money tree

China Town
Where food names are translated from chinese into Thai resulting in us struggling to buy food. The chinese took great pleasure in watching us trying to eat with a spoon and chop sticks!

A drunken night on Khao San Road

Catch of the day!!!

Andy was denied entry into the Grand Palace for wearing shorts. Just outside vendors were selling long pants. These were the least loudest they had. It was a small price to pay as the Palace was the most amazing building we have ever seen. The photos do not do it justice, it has to be seen to appreciate the sheer splendor of it.

Next stop Wat Pho. Home of the giant reclining buddha and massage university.

Mother of Pearl feet!

Ancient massage scolls on stone

We went to visit another palace, this one a teak mansion. It took 7 months to build and no nails were used in it's construction. Unfortunately we forgot to take Andys sexy long pants and had to buy something more appropiate than shorts to wear. This time an even louder peice of clothing - A SEXY SKIRT!

These spirit houses are found in varying sizes outside every building to ward off evil spririts.

The Zoo

Erewan Shrine, where people make offerings and give thanks for receiving good luck

And last but not least, after checking out of our room we spent time in the lobby waiting to depart for Chiang Mai. The owner of the hotel was having a party for his mothers birthday, which they invited us to join. The hotel has been amazing, £30 a night and the best hotel I've ever stayed in.

We are about to depart for the train station to take the overnight train to Chiang Mai. Hope everyone is well and you enjoy the pics. Take care xxx
